Hello To Everyone -

I will shortly post an opening statement for the beginning of my tenure as president of QPA.  We are all looking forward to a productive and successful second year.  Our first program this year was a great success (scroll down).  Please tell all of your colleagues and students to contact QPA and register for membership.  We are a great value.  Professionals, Graduate Students and Under-Graduate Students are welcome.

As a part of the outreach I have done, I have secured a DISCOUNT  from Christina Biloh, M.Ed., Ed.S., NCSP (Northeast & Central Regional Manager, Clinical Assessment – Pearson) that was offered to conference attendees at St. John’s about the WISC-V.  The discount is for 10% off Pearson published materials, and the discount expires March 2, 2015. Members who are interested in taking advantage of the discount should phone their orders into Pearson by March 2nd, phone # for customer service is 800-627-7271.  Right click he order form and save the file: Conference discount form St. John’s Univ WISC-V session

Call Dr. Kassoff with any questions

Hello All:

The QPA has had a good year!  A year that saw us changed from the unsteady gait of a fledgling to one that’s more solid.  We have been inducted into NYSPA as a Regional Affiliate and we cosponsored a presentation, at St. John’s University, with two speakers from our organization.  We continue to grow in membership and indeed have grown closer as friends

and colleagues.  We intend to continue on course to making the QPA an even stronger presence and well known for conferences, events, referral source, and collegiality!

Please vote as soon as possible via email.   I would also be happy to answer any questions about this, please do not hesitate to call or to write.  lplphd@gmail.com OR 718-343-5123.

Regards,

L. Popali-Lehane, PhD

Past President

Our most recent program (January 25, 2014), a talk from the authors of  Pax Ethnica: Where and How Diversity Succeeds.  (Toronto Globe & Mail – “An interesting and encouraging glimpse into five cases where diversity seems to succeed.”) was an unqualified success.  Karl E. Meyer presented a fascinating glimpse into the research and site visits that formed the basis of the book.  Dr. Auerbach-Barber, Dr. Gregory Gershman and Sharla Khargi, MA, ABD presented informative and unique insights into the populations that they work with.  The program was so engaging that the audience had to be directed to leave after going over in time by 15 minutes.

The program on September 24, 2014, The Dark Side of Electronic and Social Media Communication and The Bright Side of Using Technology in a Practice, co-sponsored by St, John’s University Office of Postgraduate Professional Development Programs was a great success.

All in attendance found the information useful and entertaining.  A great breakfast and lunch was sponsored by Therabill, a practice management software company.  They also provided a very nice pad folio for all attendees.
